Education and Outreach Coordinator

This person is to be responsible for being the contact point and coordinator for chapter initiatives or community requests for educational events.

One major role is to manage the Master Naturalist and Herpetology exhibits (no herpetology knowledge needed). This involves maintaining and updating the exhibits and determining where and when appropriate exhibit opportunities exist (e.g.- ESCC Science Fair, Heritage Festival and Kiptopeake Outdoor Festival). For selected events, this person will register for the event and obtain volunteers to staff the exhibits. These local festivals and celebrations are a major recruiting opportunity, as well as, providing public information and education.

While we currently have relatively few requests for presenters at local libraries, civic groups or schools, we would like this activity to increase as interest is expressed.
